Google Glass Officially Released in UK, Priced at £1,000

Google has just made Glass available in UK and it’s available for everyone to order it, though we don’t know for how long it will be in stock.

Google Glass is priced at £1,000, which is around $1,700, pretty similar to the US price of $1,500. The price difference is probably due to import taxes. The UK version is the same one as the US one, as it seems, and it’s still the developer edition.

Unfortunately we might not get the customer edition this year, as the company announced officially that they might not be ready to ship it yet.

This comes as great news, as we didn’t expect Google to release Glass outside of the US anytime soon. This means they’ve managed to do it and we might see it in more countries by the end of the year. We expect them to keep expanding to English speaking countries like Canada or Australia first, with the others following in the next few years. The biggest problem in non-English speaking countries is that the voice recognition doesn’t work very well and people might not be very satisfied with a product they can’t use easily.
